Finding Inspiration to Endure: How Not Being Awarded My Degree On Stage Doesn't Disappoint Me

In the bustling city of Malir, one determined student embarked on an arduous quest to pursue education while striving to maintain a coveted scholarship. The daily struggle of reaching the university, coupled with the pressure to maintain a stellar GPA, tested their resolve. Despite their best efforts, one semester witnessed a minor setback resulting in a fleeting dip in their academic performance. However, the student remained undeterred, finding happiness amidst the challenges. Well, that was me, Marwah Shakeel, struggling with a very dry subject Economics and Mathematics though it’s worth it.

One fateful day, I stumbled upon a disheartening revelation - students without merit scholarships wouldn't receive their degrees on stage. Shocked and bewildered, my spirit was momentarily shaken. However, the setback only fueled my determination to prove their worth.

As the final year approached, my student soul, a perfectionist at heart, delved into an unexpected realm for its project - Genetically Modified Food. However financial constraints threatened to hinder my ambitious research plans. With resilience and adaptability, I and my group mates turned to Google Survey Forms, transforming obstacles into opportunities.

Amidst the frenzy of semester exams, our project stretched into the summer, earning the patience and support of our supervisor, Sir Rizwan Ahmed. The results were finally in, and we proudly submitted the hard copy, unaware of the surprise awaiting us.

An unforeseen exhibition materialized, where the best projects would be honored. Despite competing against accomplished merit holders, the group remained hopeful yet grounded. Little did we anticipate the joy and euphoria that awaited us.

As the awards were announced, our names resonated through the auditorium, catching them off guard. With hearts pounding and spirits soaring, we danced our way to the stage. The pride in our accomplishment was solidified as we received recognition from esteemed figures, Sir Talib Karim and Mam Sabina Mohsin.

Although they had now basked in the glory of recognition, questions lingered about the tradition of not granting degrees on stage to all students due to logistical constraints. The debate remained unresolved, but one thing was clear - our hard-earned award already fulfilled a sense of achievement that transcended the graduation ceremony.

This tale serves as a testament to the strength of determination and resilience against all odds. Our protagonist's journey reminds us that success is not solely measured by accolades but by the unwavering pursuit of knowledge, growth, and the joy of conquering challenges along the way.
